ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Reinhardt men's basketball player Dwight Sanders has been selected as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
The Detroit, Mich., native averaged 20.3 points per game last week, helping Reinhardt to a 3-0 record during that time span – four wins in-a-row and counting – and hauled in 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per outing in the AAC triumphs.
Sanders was also crucial in late-game scenarios by connecting on 90 percent (27-of-30) from the foul line en route to his first weekly honor of the year.
This is the eighth edition of the weekly honors for the 2017-18 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Jan. 15.
The squad takes a brief step back out of conference when it travels to Thomasville, Ga., to take on Thomas on Tuesday evening.
Tipoff with the Night Hawks his set for 5:30 p.m.
